Shown at left is the flocculator basin. After the water has been treated with lime, aluminum sulfate, and sodium carbonate, it travels into the flocculator basin. water in this basin is a murky white color. 

From the flocculator basin, the water flows into the   sedimentation basins shown below, all of which are about 18 feet deep.

These basins allow any suspended matter to settle out before the water continues through the treatment plant. Settled matter is removed daily by the plant operator and is sent to a lagoon located north of the facility.
