The large blue
pump pictured at left is one of the new high
service pumps. These pumps are used to pump water
from the clearwell (finished water) to your
home.
Each of these
150 horsepower, vertical turbine pumps are rated
at 1,500 gallons per minute giving us the ability
to pump 3,000 gallons per minute to town. These
pumps and all of the white piping shown in the
picture are part of an upgrade project completed
in March 2001. This project increases the plant's
high service capabilities and ability to meet
increased demand.
The red pump pictured at left
is one of the older pumps. This is a 2,500 gallon
per minute, split case horizontal pump with a 250
horsepower electric motor. In the event of
a prolonged power outage, the diesel motor on the
far end ensures uninterrupted water service to
your home.
